Story
Hi there,
I have one simple question for you. How many times do you use the bathroom each day? Probably not a question you consider very often (or share the answer to). This is because its just a given, you don’t even think about it. Whether we are at work, at home, out shopping, there is almost always a toilet nearby. Its just there so why think about it?
Unfortunately, 732 million people in India need to think about it every day. That’s the equivalent of 28 Australian populations. They don’t have a flushing toilet. They have to carefully consider where they will go to the bathroom every single day. Many of them have no choice but to go to the bathroom out in the open, in public without proper sanitation practices in place. This leads to disease and unnecessary, easily avoidable suffering.
This MUST change.
Partnering with WaterAid, myself and my team of pioneers for change aim to provide a solution to this problem. Sanitary toilet use is a VITAL need for human health. Fittingly, we have named ourselves Team ‘Praan’ or ‘Vitality’ in Hindi.
We will develop the existing solution of twin-pit latrines and provide community engagement to rural Indians so that they do not have to worry each time they need to go to the bathroom. Its only fair, we don’t have to think about it so why should they?
However, we need your support. Every dollar raised will go directly to WaterAid who are on the ground in rural India helping to alleviate this grave social injustice. 732 million people is simply too many to ignore. Even a small donation makes a difference so join us and be a pioneer for change.
